Summary

This project involved removing an aging deck and stair assembly that no longer felt safe or functional. The homeowner wanted a sturdier platform, improved layout, and railing system that fit their screened porch and yard.

The Work

Demolished the old stairs, platform, and footings, including safe removal and disposal of all debris
Rerouted the porch downspout to keep water away from new deck supports
Dug deep post holes, set new 4x4 supports in concrete, and framed a 6'x14' deck
Installed pressure-treated decking, custom stairs, and full-perimeter handrails with vertical balusters

The Outcome

The new deck gives safe, solid access from the porch and looks right at home with the property. The new railing and stair layout offer easier entry and meet code. Water now drains safely away from the structure. The whole area feels refreshed and ready for years of use. Contact us if you’re thinking about replacing an old deck or stairs.
